Skills Matrix Reports

The platform produces a series of dynamic and data-rich reports following the board skills self assessment. Learn more about the different report types below:

1) Capability report:

Understand the capabilities and expertise of the board with the participants’ self-perceived view.

The four colours represent the levels directors used to rate their capability in a particular area (Limited, General, Advanced, or Expert).

Click here to learn more about these capability levels.

2) Peer expert assessment report:

Uncover how many times an individual was recognised as an expert in a particular skill by their peers.

3) Peer adjusted capability report:

View director capability adjusted by peer review to calibrate self-assessment and drive feedback to directors informed by objective data.

This report overlays the peer expert assessment with the self-perceived view.

If a director has not self-identified as an expert, but 30% or more of their board peers have recognised them as one, the matrix will reflect this with a green arrow and moderate their capability level up by one level. Conversely, if a director has self-identified as an expert but fewer than 30% of their peers validate this, a red arrow will appear, indicating that their capability level has been moderated down by one level.

This view is typically only shared with the Chair to inform their one-on-one discussion with directors. The final capability matrix can be updated to reflect the moderated levels that are presented in the peer adjusted report.

4) Relative assessment report:

Identify where directors can make their best individual contribution, enhancing the board’s effectiveness overall.

Each director was asked to rank their skills from strongest to weakest. This heat map highlights the areas where individuals felt most confident (shown in green) and areas where they felt least confident (shown in red).

5) Attributes matrix:

This customisable report allows you to track key attributes of a board, such as gender/age/tenure or other bespoke categories relevant to your client.
